Refunds and right of withdrawal
Last updated: 26 August 2026
Short version: if something went wrong, tell us and we will sort it out. The long version is below, because the law requires us to be precise about one thing in particular.
Your 14-day right of withdrawal
As a consumer in the EU you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance purchase without giving any reason. That right exists and we are not trying to take it away from you.
The exception for immediate delivery
What we sell is digital content that is switched on the moment your payment arrives. The law (art. 103.m of the Spanish consumer act, RDL 1/2007) says that the 14-day right does not survive immediate delivery if — and only if you have:
- expressly asked us to start delivering before the 14 days are up, and
- acknowledged that by doing so you lose your right of withdrawal.
That is exactly what the checkbox at checkout is for, and why we will not let you pay without ticking it. We record the date and time you ticked it against your order. If you do not want to give up that right, do not tick the box — but then we cannot activate the purchase immediately.
When we refund you anyway
Losing the cooling-off right is not the same as losing your consumer rights. We refund in full when:
- You paid and nothing was delivered.
- You were charged twice for the same thing.
- The feature you paid for does not work on your watch and we cannot fix it.
- We withdraw a paid feature while your Premium period is still running — you get back the unused part.
- You paid by transfer and write to us before we activate the purchase.
We do not refund because you changed your mind after using what you bought, because you stopped using the app, or because coins were spent in the game.
How to ask
Email [email protected] with your order reference
(it looks like WT000123) and what happened. You do not need a form or a specific wording.
We answer within 5 working days. An accepted refund is paid back the same way you paid — to the account the transfer came from, or to the card — within 14 days of us accepting it, at no cost to you.
Model withdrawal form
You are free to use your own words, but if you prefer the official wording:
To Steps Battle, [email protected]:
I hereby give notice that I withdraw from my contract for the purchase of the following digital content: ______________. Ordered on: ______________. Order reference: ______________. Name of consumer: ______________. Address of consumer: ______________. Date: ______________.
If we cannot agree
You can take the matter to the consumer authorities of your country, or use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. We would much rather solve it by email.
